Feng Shui, meaning, “wind water” in Chinese, represents the study and practice of moving energy outside and inside your home, office, or business. Some spaces suffer from “stuck” energy – too much clutter, cramped space, not enough light, etc. Some are challenged with fast moving energy – too open, too bright, needing warmth and focus. The ideal space feels inviting and alive, yet comfortable and comforting.
Piper Lauri Salogga, owner and principal of Natural Balance, assesses your home, office or business for energy challenges and their appropriate solutions. Salogga has a master certificate in Forms Theory feng shui. This method of practice dates back nearly 6,000 years to ancient China.
Salogga translates important principles of this traditional form of feng shui into practical applications to fit each of her client’s beliefs. “Most of the rules in feng shui are rooted in Eastern cultural traditions. There is great knowledge to be gleaned in all of these rules, but in Western culture I feel only some of them apply on a regular basis.”
Just as it is practiced inside your house or building, feng shui can also be used in your landscape to help promote peace of mind, inspiration and connection to life. And, what is more peaceful and beautiful than connecting with the movement and colors of nature through your windows? Working in tandem with David Berleth, Landscape Architect, and Susie Landscape Designs, feng shui principles are applied to your yard or garden through the shaping of outdoor spaces, circulation patterns and a variety of plantings to fit your outdoor style.
For more than nine years, Piper has integrated feng shui with her interior design skills to create homes that nourish and support their inhabitants, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Feng shui consultations are also available without interior design work. An assessment will provide you with a practical To Do list, prioritized in order of importance so you may work on the tasks at a pace you desire. We can also provide referrals to colleagues or contract resources on your behalf to help you complete these tasks.
